How does it all work?

Once you get in touch, we’ll arrange a time to talk either in person or over the phone.
I’ll ask about the person you’ve lost, what they were like, the stories that matter, and the kind of service you feel would be right. From there, I’ll write something that reflects them properly, and I’ll guide things on the day so it all runs smoothly.

You won’t be left guessing what happens next, I’ll keep things clear and straightforward.

Do I have to know exactly what I want?

Not at all. Most people don’t and that’s completely fine.

Some families come with clear ideas, others have no idea where to start. We’ll figure it out together. I’ll guide you through the options and help shape something that feels right, without it feeling forced or overly formal.

Can family or friends speak during the service?

Of course.

If someone wants to say a few words, we can absolutely include that. I’ll help guide them if they need it  and make sure everything fits comfortably within the service. And if they change their mind on the day, that’s okay too, we’ll handle it gently.

What kind of tone can the service have?

There’s no one way it has to be.

Some services are more traditional and reflective, others include humour and lighter moments. Some have religious elements. Most are a mix of all of the above.

We’ll find the right balance so it feels respectful, but still true to who they were.

Where can the service take place?

Most services take place in crematorium chapels, but they don’t have to.

I also conduct services in private gardens, venues, or anywhere people choose to come together and remember someone. If you’re not sure what’s possible, just ask, I’ll talk you through it.

Will you help with things like music and readings?

Yes.

I’ll guide you on where music and readings can sit within the service, and help shape the flow so everything fits naturally.

The funeral director usually handles the technical side of things, but I’ll make sure everything is clear and runs smoothly on the day.

How long is a service?

It depends on the venue, but crematorium services are usually around 30–45 minutes.
I’ll make sure everything fits comfortably within the time, without feeling rushed.

I’ll be there ahead of time, coordinating with the funeral director and the chapel team.
When the service begins, I’ll lead everything so you don’t have to think about what comes next. My role is to hold the space and guide things calmly from start to finish.
